MAN, W.Va. — August 25th was the date of the START (Seniors Taking Active Rolls Today) meeting held at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church. Tables were decorated with pale green and pink covers and purple place mats. Each table was adorned with a birdhouse and a pail of mixed flowers.
A delicious buffet was enjoyed following the welcoming of guests and the blessing of the food.
Members celebrating August birthdays were Lounice Jeffery, Maxine Justice, Bill McNeely, Barbara Spears, Donna Thibault and Pebble Vance.
Minutes of the July meeting were read. Several items were planned. The annual START picnic will be held September 22 at Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church and will be catered.
Members were asked to think of nominations for officers for the next biennium. The election will be held at the October meeting. It was also discussed about dismissing the meetings in January and February due to the bad weather we have had during those months in previous years.
Door prizes were awarded and the meeting was adjourned.

The next START meeting will be Thursday, September 22, Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church in South Man. All are invited to attend for good food and fellowship.
