LOGAN, W.Va. — The week of February 6 — 10 has been declared School Counseling Week in Logan County.
At this week’s meeting of the Logan County Commission, commissioners took time to thank local counselors and issue a proclamation officially making February 6 — 10 School Counseling Week in Logan County.
Several counselors representing schools from throughout the county were on hand at the meeting.
Speaking about the work done by school counselors, president of the Logan County Commission Danny Godby explained, “I know the everlasting hard work that they put forth, and teachers, counselors and administrators never are given enough credit.”
In a proclamation, the Logan County Commission cited school counselors for being actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents and for working in partnership with parents and students to find the right path for students who are working to create a better future.
It’s estimated more than 100,000 school counselors nationwide will be participating in this week’s festivities which aim to highlight the hard work done by school counselors involving academic planning and student inspiration.
