CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Mayor of the City of Logan, Serafino Nolletti, Town of Man mayor Jim Blevins and city clerk Amber Miller-Viars spent three days in Charleston in February working and lobbying for issues important to towns and cities during the Winter Conference for the West Virginia Municipal League.
Mayor Serafino Nolletti chairs the Municipal League Board as Treasurer and Amber Miller-Viars serves on the Legislative Committee.The three lobbied at the State Capitol for legislative issues ranging from dilapitated structures, land banking, firefighter rights and slip and falls suit related bills that are critical to the success of municipalities.
City Clerk Amber Miller-Viars attended the Election Training conducted by the WV Secretary of States Office alongside Logan Native Dave Allen Glipin who now serves in the West Virginia secretary of state’s office as a field representative. The WVML is organization that allows Towns and Cities to network and work together for a stronger state.
The group attended the meetings along with Logan County Veterans because it was Veterans Day at the state capitol.
Those in attendance included: Ronnie McKinney (Pineville), Johnny Sansom (Cyclone), Garland Cook (Pineville), Dennis Hurley (Man), Avary Bailey (Oceana), Bill Elkins (Oceana).
