MAN, W.Va. — Two people were recently arrested after a tip led authorities to a camper on Madison Creek.
Senior Trooper G.E. Garren, with the West Virginia State Police, reportedly conducted surveillance on the camping trailer eventually conducting traffic stops on vehicles leaving the camper.
The criminal complaint filed by Garren explains officers were informed people living in the camper were selling various types of drugs.
After securing a search warrant, officers report they searched the camper finding scales, several bags of marijuana packaged for sale and suboxonne strips also packaged for sale.
Troopers Hannon and Thompson were also on hand for the search, and the officers were reportedly able to find two handguns.
One of the handguns was later found to be have been stolen from the Mallory, W.Va. area.
Officers report they also found pieces of mail bearing hte names Richard Spears Jr. and Tishie Trent inside the camper.
Trent and Spears were later arrested and charged with several felony and misdemeanor charges.
Trent was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a schedule-three controlled substance with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit a felony and receiving or transferring stolen property.
Trent’s bail was set to $15,000.
Spears was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a schedule-three controlled substance with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit a felony, receiving or transferring stolen property and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Spears’ bail was set to $10,000.
