Community surrounds teen going through cancer treatment

A local business is hosting a fundraiser to benefit a Logan County teenager who is battling a terminal disease.

Shyanna Workman is a 15-year-old student at Logan High School. In 2013, Shyanna was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, which is a brain cancer.

Shyanna’s mother, Katrina, says her daughter has had 6 surgeries, 33 rounds of radiation and multiple types of chemotherapy.

The family has traveled as far as Minnesota for treatment.

David Hager Photography is hosting a fundraiser to offset the family’s cost of seeking treatment for Shyanna. The business is giving away a trip for two to Cincinnati. The trip includes free passes to the Cincinnati Zoo and a two-night stay at the Hyatt Regency.

All you have to do to be entered to win is donate at least $5 to Shyanna’s GoFundMe account or via PayPal to [email protected]

You’ll be entered to win for every $5 you donate to the cause.

A link to the fundraiser is available on WVOW’s Facebook page.

A winner for the contest will be selected Saturday.
