Fishing for a cause

LOGAN — The 11th annual Tony Gill fishing tournament was held along the Guyandotte River on August 8. There were 270 participants that registered for the event.

There was more than $700 dollars’ worth of cash prizes given out to the winners, and thousands of dollars’ worth of giveaways that was given out to attendee’s including fishing and camping gear and gift cards. There was a $5 dollar gift card and gold dollar given to every child who attended.

The first place winner for biggest carp was Hayden Adams and second place was Chester Perry. The first place winner for biggest Bass was Lester Farmer and second place was Paul Browning. The First place winner for biggest catfish was Michael Black and the second place winner was Donnie Green.

There were spirits awards given to Reese Mauk and Chelsea Green. Event organizers, the Codispoti and Gill families, gave much appreciation to their family and friends for their support and also to McDonald’s of Logan for all their help.
