WILLIAMSON – New event information has been released for the Miss King Coal beauty pageant and the King Coal Festival Car and Bike Show
On Saturday, Sept., 12, The Miss King Coal beauty pageant is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at The Southside Mall for ages two to 18.
The categories are Wee Little Miss King Coal, Tiny Miss King Coal for ages 3 to 5, Little Miss King Coal for ages 6 to 8, Pre- Teen Miss King Coal for ages 9 to 12, Jr. Miss King Coal for ages 13 to 15, and Miss King Coal ages 16-18.
All contestants will compete in a beauty presentation. Contestants three years of age and older will present a two minute talent and provide a natural 5×7 or 8×10 picture.
Contestants five years of age and older will introduce their self. A rehearsal will be held Tuesday, Sept., 8 between the hours of 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. at the Southside Mall.
Contestants may register then, go to the King Coal Festival Car/Bike Show Facebook page, or pick up an application from Shae’s Boutique and Tanning at the Southside Mall, Hurley’s drug Store, The Coal House, or the Williamson Public Library.
Applications may be mailed to King Coal Festival, P.O. Box 95, Williamson, WV 25661. The deadline to enter the beauty pageant is Sept., 8 at 5:30 p.m.
The King Coal Festival Car and Bike Show will take place Saturday, Sept., 19, in downtown Williamson.
Three new categories have been added this year: Race and Drag Cars, Best Rat Rod, and Antique Fire Trucks.
To register, visit the King Coal Festival Car and Bike Show’s Facebook page. The cost to register is $20 but those registered before Sept., 1, will receive a five dollar discount.
On Sept., 19, registration will be from the hours of 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A kids’ 12 volt power wheel race will take place at 1 p.m. Local deejays will be playing oldies music, there will be food and craft vendors and door prize drawings.
