The West Virginia State Police (WVSP) have scheduled a DUI Checkpoint for Friday Sept. 11.
Beginning at 6 p.m. and stretching to midnight, members of the WVSP will conduct the sobriety checkpoint at Deskins Addition along route 119/26. A press release from the WVSP states, “The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to educate the motoring public about the effects of driving impaired either by alcohol or drugs or both.”
The checkpoint is also meant to act as a general deterrent against impaired driving. Driver’s motor vehicle inspection stickers and registrations will also be checked for violations.
This project is funded through the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.
