CHAPMANVILLE — An early morning blaze Wednesday prompted a three fire department response to Admiral Road in Chapmanville. Upon arrival, fire crews found a single story structure fully involved.

At first, it was unclear if the home was occupied but it was later that fire officials found out the home owners were out of town.

Firefighters from Chapmanville, Henlawson, and Lake fought the blaze for nearly three hours and remained on scene another three hours putting out hotspots and completing an overhaul operation.

No injuries to firefighters were reported. The home is considered a complete loss and no dollar estimate is available.

The cause of the fire remains unclear and will be investigated by the Chapmanville Fire Department and the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
