WILLIAMSON — Local pastor Reverend Frank Jones will be honored this Saturday by the Williamson Branch of NAACP and Youth Council.
Jones will be honored for being “A Faith Leader” with 40 years of service to the Ecclesiastic Community of Southern West Virginia and an unwavering commitment to community service.
Jones was honored by U.S. Senator Joe Manchin III for his 40 years of service to the ecclesiastic community of southern West Virginia during reception held in August at the Cole Street Missionary Baptist Church in Aracoma.
Jones has served as pastor of the church for more than 40 years and as pastor of the Second Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Williamson for more than 39 years. Jones also serves as a director of the West Virginia Baptist State Convention.
A reception will be held for Jones at 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 26, at the Logan Street First Baptist Church in Williamson.
