Halloween Fest 2015 will go on as scheduled Friday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. in the parking lot across from Hot Cup.

“If it rains, we will move the live music inside the Hot Cup, but everything else will go as scheduled outdoors,” Jamie Dempsey Butcher, Managing Director for the ARTS said. “Of course the Midnight Matinee of the Addams Family is already scheduled indoors at the Coalfield Jamboree Theatre, just down the street.”

The schedule for Halloween Fest is as follows:

8 p.m. – Zombie Run 5k Registration

9 p.m. – Zombie Run 5k Race

9 p.m. – Live Music by the Big Bad and Let the Guilty Hang

11 p.m. – Parade of the Dead

Midnight – The Addams Family

“Halloween Fest is sponsored by Southern West Virginia Community Technical College and anyone with a valid Southern Student I.D. will get in to all Halloween Fest activities free of charge, including the Midnight Matinee of the Addams Family,” Butcher explained.

Kids’ Fest is still scheduled for Oct. 3. Weather permitting, Trunk-or-Treat and kid activities start at 5:30 p.m.

The Addams Family will show at 7 p.m. and all kids get into this specific show for a discounted price of $5. All other tickets are the regular price of $12.

“We are warning parents that the Addams Family is considered a mature show for content, adult humor and some language,” Butcher said. “October 3 will be an edited show in order to be more child-friendly; however, the show will still have the adult humor for which the Addams Family movies are so well-known.”

The Addams Family will also show Oct. 9 at 7 p.m., Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m..
