Logan Chief of Police E.K. Harper has been selected as October’s Officer of the Month.
Harper retired as a Sergeant with the West Virginia State Police and has been police chief in Logan since 2008. In his capacity as chief, Harper supervises seven police officers and two parking enforcement officers.
Mayor of Logan Serafino Nolletti explained Harper’s pivotal role in running the city saying, “He has been a very loyal police chief to me and our town. He is strictly by the book.” Nolletti also praised Harper as a renaissance man who possesses a vast mechanical knowledge that often uses his talents to help city keep moving.
Harper has three children. Two of them have followed in their father’s footsteps and entered law enforcement.
“This is a great honor going to someone who definitely deserves it,” added Nolletti.
