A suspicious fire was successfully extinguished by the Logan Fire Department Oct. 18.
The fire is now under investigation by firefighters and Logan Fire Marshall.
The Logan Fire Department reports they were notified of a fire on High Street just after midnight Sunday. However, by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, they reportedly found the home located at 65 High Street in Logan to be fully-involved in flames.
Firefighters report the home was abandoned and no electricity was hooked up. The fire is being treated as suspicious.
Firefighters report the area around High Street in Logan has been a hotbed suspicious fire activity and they have been called to at least six fires in the area in recent years.
While firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in around 30 minutes, they reportedly stayed on scene for around two hours making sure the fire stayed out.
Through the work of firefighters with the Logan Fire Department, the fire reportedly stayed confined to one structure and no injuries to civilians nor firefighters have been reported at this time.
According to firefighters, the fully-involved state of the fire taken into account with the fact the home had no electricity at the time of the blaze immediately casts suspicions on the fire’s origins — especially in an area that reports as many fires as the area around High Street in Logan.
