Logan County Veterans Day Parade


The Veterans Day ceremony was held on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, in the shadows of the “Doughboy” statue at Logan’s Veterans Park on Midelburg Island. Logan native Ed Eiland, a 95 year old World War II veteran who fought at Iwo Jima, among other places, was honored.


A contingent of veterans flying the colors started the parade which would wrap around the Logan County Courthouse before returning to Midelburg Island for a ceremony and free lunch.


The Logan County Veterans Day Parade was held Wednesday Nov. 11. Members of ROTC units from throughout the county took part in the part which would use a helicopter escort, a host of firetrucks representing stations from Logan, Verdunville and Main Island Creek among others and the Logan Middle School band to pay tribute and honor all those who served in the U.S. Military.
