Healthcare options for residents of Logan County are expanding.
MedExpress Urgent Care held a welcoming ceremony and ribbon cutting at its new location in Deskins Addition in Logan Nov.16.
The Logan location of MedExpress marks the company’s 26th urgent care location in West Virginia.
A press release from MedExpress quotes Debrina Williams, executive director of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce as saying, “We’re thrilled that MedExpress has joined the Logan community to provide our families and employers with a convenient option for healthcare. We believe MedExpress will be an affordable option for those on-the-go or those with time-sensitive health care needs.”
At 8 a.m. Nov. 18, the facility opened its doors to patients seeking treatment for common illnesses like colds and flus as well as more advanced treatments like x-rays.
MedExpress in Logan will also function as a provider of employer health services including worker’s compensation examinations and Department of Transportation physicals.
Sarah Stewart, field marketing manager for MedExpress, explained, “We are excited to be here. Logan is going to be a great fit for MedExpress. We are excited to be able to offer affordable healthcare to the citizens of Logan.”
At the ribbon cutting, a letter was read from Senator Joe Manchin and representatives for Congressman Evan Jenkins, Senator Shelly Moore Capito and Governor Earl Ray Tomblin each delivered messages of thanks and congratulations to MedExpress and citizens Logan.
State Senator Art Kirkendoll and president of the Logan County Commission Danny Godby were also present at the event.
MedExpress in Logan will also provide free flu shots as a welcoming gift to all patients over four years old from Nov. 18 to Dec. 2.
MedExpress Urgent Care in Logan will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
