LOGAN — Saving Animals From Euthanasia (SAFE) is set to host a Christmas bazaar fundraiser.

The fundraiser will be held Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Four Seasons Country Store in Logan.

The bazaar will feature a host of vendors selling craft items, Mary K Cosmetics, 31 Bags, Sensey, Snaps Jewelry, Snaps Jewelry and more.

Leslie Chrislip, director of SAFE explained, “We have a bunch of local artisans who are going to do craft items — a lot of wood pieces, centerpieces, reefs and just about anything you would want.”

The event will also function as a food drive for the animal group.

Anyone who brings a bag of animal food will be given five raffle tickets.

Chrislip added several businesses in Logan and many of the vendors for the bazaar have provided prizes for raffle winners.

SAFE was formed in March 2013. Chrislip noted, “It was just two women who were going to go to the pound a rescue a couple dogs when we could, and it somehow morphed into us rescuing dogs from all over W.Va. We rescue owner-surrenders in Logan. We send our dogs out to everywhere in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Ohio. We also do adoptions.”

Since 2013, Chrislip estimates the group has helped to save the lives of around 1,800 animals.

SAFE reportedly has around 20 animals currently placed in foster homes, and Chrislip stated the group is always looking for people to volunteer to foster and transport animals.

SAFE is also seeking donations of dog and bunny food.

Anyone seeking more information about SAFE or the Christmas bazaar can find the group’s Facebook page at facebook.com/logancountyanimals or contact Chrislip at 304-239-2325.
