MOUNT GAY, W.Va. – According to “Life Daily,” graduation is the accomplishment of receiving or conferring an academic degree, and it denotes the culmination of many years of study, and is viewed as a significant day by students and educators alike.
Recently, many students of a local college were recognized for their academic achievements and years of dedication.
The graduation ceremony for Lindsey Wilson College students was held at the theatre at Southern West Virginia Community College campus on Thurs., Dec. 3rd.
Among those getting diplomas, staff members at Logan Mingo Area Mental Health (LMAMH) who received Masters Degrees during commencement services were Amanda Sonier, Bradley Barnett, Gabriel Frye, Sanda Vance, and Rita White; also, Robert Carrillo, Cody Frye, and Jill Click received their Bachelors Degrees.
“This is a very special time. We’re really so proud of the number of employees who graduated with either a Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a Master’s Degree in counseling. We can never recall — in the history of the agency — this many graduates earning their degrees at one time,” said LMAMH CEO Donna Cooke.
Cooke added that she and the rest of the staff want to congratulate those who earned their degrees, recognizing the grads for their hard work and determination.
