Step by Step recruiting VISTAs

Staff Report

Step by Step is currently recruiting VISTAs (Volunteers In Service To America) for a variety of placements.

VISTAs are considered someone who will selflessly give a year of their life for full-time community service to build capacity to enable communities and individuals to move out of poverty, in exchange for great hands-on experience, a $5700 education award, and a bi-weekly living allowance of $449 gross.

If you want an opportunity to change your world for the better while gaining hands-on experience in areas such as event planning, grant writing, research and documentation, community organizing, etc, then consider becoming an AmeriCorps*VISTA.

VISTAs can serve in the following areas: Family Literacy (both urban and rural placements; Child Welfare Transition (based in Charleston, W.Va.); Educational Support (both urban and rural placements); Food Security (rural placement); Disaster Services (rural placement) and Internship and Entrepreneurship (rural placement). Rural placements are in Lincoln and Logan Counties in Southern West Virginia.
