Another arrest has been made in connection with the June 8 robbery of Jersey’s II, the “vape shop” in West Logan.
On June 12, The Logan Banner reported the arrest of James Snow, 45, of Ashford, W.Va.. Snow was arrested by Trooper First Class C.S. Maynard and Trooper T.J. Hannon, with the West Virginia State Police, after he allegedly fled the scene and attempted to hide from law enforcement.
Maynard and Hannon reported, as they approached the building, they were able to observe a male suspect inside of the store, but Maynard and Hannon further report the suspect fled out of the rear entrance before they could make contact. Upon pursuit, law enforcement was unable to locate the suspect.
Maynard and Hannon later reportedly found a bag of tools on the side of Route 10 which led them to find Snow allegedly attempting to hide in hole by the Guyandotte River. During questioning, Snow reportedly stated his brother, Marshall Clinton Harless, 38, of Charleston, had made entry into Jersey’s II while he stood watch.
Maynard and Hannon report they were able to locate a vehicle registered to Harless near the scene, and, after reviewing security footage while referencing a photo of Harless, Hannon reports the photo of Harless and the person in the security footage obtained from Jersey’s II, “appeared similar in facial structure and body build.”
Based on this information, a warrant for Haless’ arrest on charges of breaking and entering and fleeing on foot was issued in magistrate court June 8. Harless was subsequently arrested June 11, and if Harless is found guilty of both charges, he could be forced to spend between two and 11 years in a state correctional facility and pay $500 in fines. Bond was set to $10,000.
