LOGAN — Two buildings containing several businesses reportedly suffered break-ins in downtown Logan Tuesday night, and authorities say they are tracking down a suspect.
The break-in occurred at the Hot Cup Coffee Shop and the old National Bank Building at the next door.
Logan Chief of Police E.K. Harper explained they believe the suspect entered the Hot Cup in the rear of the building.
After entering the Hot Cup and causing damages to the business, the thief reportedly used the building’s roof to access the building next door.
Harper explained, “They went…in the rear of Hot Cup and were able to get on the roof and crossed over to the old National Bank building where several offices were broken into.”
None of the businesses were occupied at the time of the break-ins and no injuries have been reported.
Harper stressed the Logan Police Department does not believe the suspect to be dangerous; however, they are actively, “,,,building a case against a suspect.”
Harper added that people should continue to make safety-centered choices around the holidays saying, “Don’t leave any money laying around and keep your cars and doors locked.”
