Mingo Delegate resigns

CHARLESTON – Mingo County Delegate Harry White tendered his resignation from the West Virginia House of Delegates Monday evening.

In the resignation letter, White states that he wishes to devote more professional and personal time to toward economic development in Mingo County.

White currently resides in Gilbert W.Va. and is chairman of the Bank of Mingo.

According to the West Virginia State Legislature website, White represented District 21 which serves parts of Mingo, Wyoming, and McDowell counties.

The website explains that White served on a number of legislative committees including : Agriculture and Natural Resources, Energy, Finance, and House Rules. White also served on several interim committees including : Economic Development, Energy, Finance and Tax Reform.

White is a member of the Democratic Party.

Wikipedia states that White was born in Huntington W.Va .and earned his BBA from Marshall University. The website states that White has represented District 21 since Jan. 2003. Before that, White represented District 19. Wikipedia explains that, “White served consecutively from Jan. 1997 until Jan. 2003 and non-consecutively from his appointment since Sept. 11 1992 until Jan. 1995 in a District 19 seat.”

White resigned one week before the start of the 60 week legislative session.
