CHARLESTON, W.Va. Delegate Justin Marcum Justin Marcum (D-Mingo, 20) has introduced legislation that will formally establish term limits for legislators. The House Joint Resolution was co-sponsored with bipartisan support. The resolution will change the total term limits for all state elected officials to a total of twelve years.

Marcum said this Bill is important to the State of West Virginia and the people of the southern part.

“The Bill is a step in the right direction,” Marcum said in a press release. “We have seen leadership in Charleston in the past fail to focus on the future and this Bill provides for integrity in our election process.”

The Joint Resolution was submitted and will require an amendment to the West Virginia Constitution. Marcum said he is hopeful and cautiously optimistic that the new majority in Charleston will take up his legislation.
