Crews fight nighttime fire in Verdunville

Chief Windell Hunter, of the Verdunville Fire Department (VFD) reports the VFD and the Cora Fire Department responded to a call for a house fire in the Verdunville area Feb. 1. Hunter reports firefighters found the home with flames coming through its roof.

The call for the fire reportedly came in around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Hunter reports it took crews 30 minutes to get the blaze under control and around three hours before crews had completely extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported and the no one was reportedly in the home at the time of the fire. The fire marshal is reportedly investigating the cause of the fire.
