BOE president Frye passes away

Logan, W.Va. — Longtime community fixture and current president of the Logan County Board of Education (LCBOE) James “Jim” Frye has passed away.

Frye succumbed to his illness after an extended battle with cancer; however, he remained an active member of the LCBOE participating in meetings over the telephone and in person.

Frye was active in many facets of the community serving as president of board of the Aracoma Story and a member of the Logan Kiwanis Club.

Frye also worked at Pepsi Bottling Company.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa; two sons, Jackson and Griffin, and his parents, Kenneth and Judy Frye.

James Funeral Home at Aracoma will be in charge of funeral services, which are incomplete as of press time.
