MAN, W.Va. — To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC), Man High School plans to take part in the largest run in military history.
The Fun Run will be held worldwide on April 23, and Man High School will be hosting the local portion of the run.
As part of a worldwide commemoration of the centennial JROTC anniversary, the Fun Run is a one-of-a-kind event that allows participants around the world to run together.
Each time zone’s start time is set to 3 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
The local Fun Run will begin at 11 a.m. April 23.
Registration for the event is now open and Man High School JROTC would like to invite the public to participate and help support the JROTC cadets break the world record.
Man High School is also requesting all JROTC and ROTC alumni to join them for the event as participants or volunteers.
Registration for the event must be completed online by going to active.com and searching for JROTC for the location of Man, W.Va..

JROTC is a military-supported high school program whose purpose is to educate high school students in leadership roles while making them aware of the benefits of active citizenship.
