LOGAN, W.Va. — A local resident approached the city of Logan council on Tuesday night and made a request. Jeff Reagan is a local working man and a longtime active member of the Logan Shrine Club and Aracoma Lodge No. 99.

“I believe our nation has turned upside down,” Reagan said, noting that police officers across the country felt bewildered and under siege in the aftermath of a whole host of incidents nationwide including riots and many officers being killed in the line of duty. “I had noticed that other communities had placed emblems stating, “In God We Trust” on their vehicles and I would like to donate the emblems to the city of Logan if you will agree to permit them placed on the vehicles.”

Logan Police Chief E.K. Harper said he approved of the request 100 percent. Councilman Basil Ken Lee said he felt it was time to “take a stand for what made America great.”

Council members present approved the request unanimously. Reagan said he would also like to provide the emblems to the Logan Fire Department.
