Community roundtable to be held

LOGAN, W.Va. — Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and the West Virginia Department of Commerce will bring community leaders together to discuss challenges facing Southern West Virginia on Friday, April 1.

The forum, Revitalizing Southern West Virginia: A Community Roundtable, will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and identify models for programs to overcome local economic challenges. Community leaders will have the opportunity to connect with state and federal resources for revitalizing the southern region of West Virginia.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chief Logan Lodge & Conference Center. Space is extremely limited and registration is required.

Tentatively the schedule is:

8:30-9 a.m. — Registration

9 a.m. — Opening Remarks

9:15-10:30 a.m. — Panel 1: Building a stronger economy through a world-class workforce

10:45 a.m.-Noon — Panel 2: Holistic approaches to strengthening communities

Noon- 1 p.m. — Lunch Keynote: Governor Earl Ray Tomblin

1:15-2:45 p.m. — Panel 3: Strategies for continued economic development

2:45 p.m. — Closing Remarks
