LOGAN, W.Va. — It will be an enchanted summer under the stars at Chief Logan State Park when The Aracoma Story Inc. presents a brand new musical and a local favorite at the Liz Spurlock Amphitheater stage.
Disney fans should be delighted to hear that “Beauty and the Beast” will make its first ever appearance as a full blown musical on the local stage. This tale — as old as time — will feature all the songs and characters from the original film. It will be presented on June 9-12, 16-19 and 23-26.
Princess Aracoma will return this summer when “The Aracoma Story” is presented in July. The classic story of an Indian maiden who fell in love with a British soldier will be performed July 19-23 and 26-30.
Show time for both productions is 8:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale in May.
“Beauty and the Beast” is already in rehearsals but there is still a chance to be a part of “The Aracoma Story” cast and crew. Auditions will be held Friday, April 8, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 9, from 1-5 p.m. in the Logan High School Little Theater.
It’s easy to audition, just show up and read from a provided script.
