MAN, W.Va. — Buffalo Creek Memorial Library will host the 10th Annual “Man on the Move” Walk Saturday, April 23, 2016. This annual event to promote physical activity began in conjunction with West Virginia on the Move in several communities in the area. While others have been discontinued, the Man walk continues to grow.
What began with a total of 24 people participating has now turned into an event that attracts more than 100 people. The library has partnered with Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, the Logan County Commission and Healthy Logan County to provide free t-shirts to all adult participants, while businesses countywide have provided over 50 door prizes for this year’s walk.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. proceeding through the South Man area.
If you would like to preregister you may do so by stopping by the library this week. A children’s walk entitled “Kids on the Move” is being planned for the month of May and will be sponsored by Healthy Logan County.
For more information you may call the library at 304-583-7887 or message the library’s Facebook page.
“Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to participate,” Elizabeth Tackett, librarian said “Rain or shine come out and join us!”
