LOGAN, W.Va. — All terrain vehicle (ATV) and side-by-side riders from across the region are set to gather in Logan for a day of riding for charity as the Logan Shrine Club will to host their Third Annual ATV/Side-by-Side Poker Run Saturday May 7.
Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Logan Shrine Club beside McDonald’s in Logan, and tickets to participate in the day-long charity event will cost $10 for each rider.
“Reason to Ride 2016” will feature a pre-selected route on the Hatfield and McCoy Trail System where, at certain way-points, a playing card can be collected.
Eventually, a rider can collect enough cards to constitute a poker hand, and at the end of the day, the rider with the best hand will receive a trophy.
While riders can stick to the pre-selected route, they are also encouraged to have fun and explore the area’s Hatfield and McCoy Trail System at their own pace and leisure.
The Shrine Club of Logan will also be selling hot dogs and other refreshments, and door prizes, raffles and a 50/50 drawing will also be featured at the event.
Drawings for the door prizes, raffles and the 50/50 drawing will begin at 4 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit the Logan Shrine Club who donates the money it raises to the Shiner’s Hospitals.
“We take care of business here in Logan and then we donate out to the hospitals. We deal with the Shiner’s Hospital in Lexington Ky. which is orthopedics…and we have one in Cincinnati which is a burn unit…,” noted Jeff Reagan president of the Logan Shrine Club.
