CHARLESTON — Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced Wednesday that a consumer representative from the Attorney General’s Office will hold public events during May throughout southern West Virginia. The office representative will educate consumers on the latest scams in their area, provide tips on how to guard their personal information and answer questions about consumer protection settlements.
Peni Adams, a consumer outreach and compliance specialist with the office, will host the events, which are scheduled below:
• May 2: 11:30 a.m. –12:30 p.m. Scam Presentation and Mobile Office Hours at Earl Jarvis Service Enrichment Center, 699 Stratton St., Logan
• May 2: 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Logan City Hall, 219 Dingess St., Logan
• May 9: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Scam presentation and Mobile Office Hours at Delbarton Senior Center, 3826 Grace St., Delbarton
“These events allows West Virginia consumers to stay up-to-date on the latest scams and ways to safeguard personal information,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “Having the option to talk one-on-one is also very helpful in airing concerns and asking questions.”
The information sessions are open to the public; reservations are not required.
