WV Freedom Festival opens

The newly repaired parking building in Logan has opened just in time for WV Freedom Festival visitors coming to downtown Logan this weekend.

Logan will host the WV Freedom Festival starting Thursday July 2 at 6 p.m. and lasting until the late hours of Saturday July 4.

Mayor of the City of Logan, Serafino Nolletti addressed the opening of the festival saying, “…Thursday is opening night. We’re really excited because this year we’ve got three big headliners for all three nights. Thursday night we have Georgia Satellites, Friday night we have Andy Griggs and Saturday night we have Trick Pony. This year we’ve got a carnival. In the past we’ve had a few rides, but we’ve never had a carnival like this before. Of course, there will be several of our returning vendors and a few new ones. You’ll be able to get all of your fair favorites…funnel cakes, ribs and lemonade and all that good stuff.”

There will also be inflatable play houses available for free to children. Nolletti remarked that he was pleased to have gotten the acrobatics act, Galaxy Girl at this year’s festival. “She goes 137 feet straight in the air…and does trapeze…,” added Nolletti.

In closing, Nolletti said, “We want everybody to come down and have good time.”
