MacKenzie Shannon Jones will lead the 2016 class of Logan High School as valedictorian.


LOGAN, W.Va. — MacKenzie Shannon Jones will lead the 2016 class of Logan High School as valedictorian during a graduation ceremony set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, at the school.

MacKenzie has been extremely involved with Logan High School’s Key Club, and held the office of vice president. She was president of Teens Against Alcohol and Drugs, treasurer of the Logan High School Prayer Club, and a member of the National Honor Society, and National Beta Club. Apart from school, MacKenzie is very involved in her church in the Praise and Worship team and children’s ministry.

MacKenzie plans to attend Marshall University in the fall. She has been accepted into the four year nursing program at Marshall. MacKenzie has been awarded the Promise Scholarship, the Kiwanis Scholarship and an academic scholarship from Marshall University.

She is the daughter of Shannon Adkins of Logan.
