LOGAN, W.Va. — Southern Coalition for the ARTS plans to pique the interest of your inner detective as they have prepared a murder mystery dinner for Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m.
“Final Cut” will be presented along with dinner and drinks at the Logan Country Club, and representatives from the ARTS added they would like to invite everyone to come, dust off their inner Sherlock Holmes and solve the mystery.
The play centers on a movie director who is looking for financial backing for a new project.
The director invites investors for a meeting only to see his crew of actors and potential backers slowly being killed off.
Leah Clay, with the ARTS, noted, “It’s up to the audience to figure out the killer’s identity before dessert.”
The group, which will present “The Wizard of Oz” later this summer, hopes to use the murder mystery dinner as a fund raiser for the myriad costumes, props, effects and set pieces a big production like “The Wizard of Oz” requires.
While remaining tight-lipped about the specifics of the mystery, Clay explained the troupe of actors for the show will be familiar to local audiences and some of the actors will also be appearing in “The Wizard of Oz.”
Tickets for “Final Cut” will be $30 for individuals and $50 for couples. Italian food will be served; however, drinks are not included in the cost of the ticket.
