LOGAN, W.Va. — Four Seasons Country Store offers a variety of services to local residents including fresh produce, garden center, catering, and deli services, and it is now offering kayaking and canoe rentals.
Four Seasons owner Jack Baisden said it was an easy decision to begin the kayaking rentals.
“It just goes hand and hand with sitting here on the Guyandotte River in our new location,” Baisden said. “With the coal industry taking the hit that it is taking, we need to build on tourism.”
Baisden said they offer three different trip rentals — a quarter day, half day and full day — and a grab and go where you can rent a kayak and take it to another body of water.
Baisden said the trip rentals begin at Four Seasons where you are fixed up with your rental, lifejackets and paddles, and a short orientation on kayaking or canoeing.
“We take you up to river for whatever trip you want,” Baisden said. “The half day trip starts at Three Mile Curve, the quarter day trip begins at Stollings and the all day trip begins at Earling. A quarter day trip usually lasts about two to two and half hours, half day about three to four hours and all day usually about seven hours. We take you up and you float back to our location here on the river.”
