CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — On Saturday June 18th, 2016 the Logan Area Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) hosted its 9th Annual JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Sportsmanship) Fishing day at Camp Chief Logan Boy Scout Camp at Garretts Fork. More than 150 kids of all ages showed up to enjoy a day of fishing, fun and food.

Hundreds of dollars in door prizes were given away and the fish were definitely biting. Everything from fishing rods and tackle boxes to bait and bobbers were donated and given away.

The first 100 participants received a free t-shirt and other goodies to help make the day a success before ever wetting a line. Everything was made possible by donations made to the chapter specifically for the event.

The Logan Area Chapter expresses their appreciation to the many sponsors and volunteers that helped to make the day a huge success. In the difficult economic times in the area being able to offer a day of fishing fun complete with prizes and good food is a much appreciated treat.

Volunteers of the Logan Area Chapter say they are already working on making next year’s event even better.
