Each year, residents of Logan County can take advantage of a series of free trash days where everyone can get rid of the junk in the garage, outbuilding or attic.
To further the goal of a cleaner county, The Logan County Commission will host its Annual Logan County Cleanup soon in Man, Chapmanville and Logan.
Citizens of Logan County will have free access to three separate dump sites in coming weeks.
The cleanup site in Man will be at the old Man Hospital location July 29 – 30.
The rock quarry in Chapmanville will host the cleanup site August 12 and 13.
In Logan, the old K-City/Furniture World lot near Stereo Video will be used as a cleanup site August 26-27.
People wishing to utlize the dumps will need to provide proof of Logan County residence.
This year, the County Commission will be making the dumps free to all citizens; however, commercial refuse will not be accepted.
A statement released by the commission reads, “Due to a downturn in the economy and coal severance taxes, the Logan County Commission will ensure that citizens have an opportunity to utilize the dumps. Therefore, we will not be accepting ANY commercial garbage. If you have any questions, comments or concerns feel free to call the Logan County Commission.”
