LOGAN, W.Va. — Logan Regional Medical Center announced Thursday that Simon Ratliff has been appointed its new chief operating officer (COO) effective August 8, 2016. Ratliff replaces, Brian Springate who served nearly two years as COO of the hospital and has since then moved on to a new role as CEO of a LifePoint Hospital in Kentucky.
Ratliff holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Northern Kentucky University and an MBA from Midway College in Midway, Kentucky. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has been with LifePoint since 2010 and part of the leadership development program since 2014. Simon started as the Director of Radiology at Spring View Hospital at Lebanon Ky., moved to Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center at Somerset, Ky., as Senior Director over multiple departments, and then to Valley View Medical Center at Fort Mohave, Ariz., as Assistant Administrator. Prior to joining LifePoint, Simon spent seven years as COO of DRS, a privately owned healthcare company in Lexington, Ky.
Simon will reside in Logan with his wife of 18 years, Angela and their two children Bailey, 16, and Abby, 14. They have spent the last year in Arizona and are very excited about the opportunity to move closer to home. They are originally from eastern Kentucky, spending 18 years in Pikeville and 12 in Richmond.
