LOGAN, W.Va. — Combat wounded veterans with disabilities are invited to participate in a special Purple Heart Trail Ride this Friday, August 26, 2016.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 733, is arranging for side by sides to take veterans for a ride on the Bear Wallow Trail of the Hatfield Mc Coy Trail System. To register a combat wounded veteran with disabilities, or for more information, contact MOPH at 304-855-2009 or email [email protected] Pre-registration is required for Friday’s ride to make sure we have enough vehicles to accommodate our veterans.

Chapter 733 started this special project in 2014. More veterans participated last year and the Chapter hope’s this year’s event will be even bigger. They want every combat wounded veteran to be aware of this opportunity to enjoy a ride in our beautiful mountains. So, if you know someone who qualifies, let them know about this special day set aside just for them to honor their service.

On Saturday, August 27, Chapter 733 invites the general public to join combat wounded veterans in a Purple Heart Poker Ride on the Bear Wallow Trail of the Hatfield McCoy Trail System.

Registration will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday on Middelburg Island at Logan. Fee is $20 for driver and $10 each for additional riders.
