LOGAN, W.Va. — A 2016 End of Summer Blowout Party is set to be held at the Pickin’ in the Park Opry House at Chief Logan State Park Sept. 3.
The Pickin’ the Park Opry House is located at 435 Seng Creek Road in Logan.
The event will start at 3 p.m. and go 9 p.m.
Ray Perry, with Pickin’ in the Park, explained the event is sponsored by the Logan County Commission, J&D Inflatables and Chief Logan State Park.
The End of Summer Blowout Party will feature live music, cook out food and inflatables for free.
The pool at Chief Logan State Park will also be available for the event with children up to five years old gaining access for free, children up to 11 costing $4 and anyone 12 years and older will cost $5.
The pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Live music from Coal Fired Band and Kayla Dawn will be staged at the event.
Any musicians or bands who are interested in performing at the event can contact the organizers of the blowout party on Facebook by September 1 by searching for the page 2016 End of Summer Blowout.
If the weather permits, the blowout’s musical guests will perform outdoors.
However, the music may be moved into the Pickin’ in the Park Opry House in case of rain.
Perry noted, “There are a few people whose assistance and expertise made the 2016 End of Summer Blowout possible. We would like to thank the Logan County Commission, Chief Logan State Park Superintendent Bruce Collinsworth, all the volunteer staff at Pickin in the Park and Roger Bryant.”
