Fatal accident on Corridor G

This tractor was damaged Friday morning after officials say it was struck behind by a vehicle on Corridor G near Danville. A West Virginia Division of Highways worker on the tractor was injured, and the driver of the vehicle that struck the state equipment was killed.


Danville, W.Va. — A manager at the Logan County Kroger died after a car accident near Boone County Friday August 26.

Levi Shannon Dorsey, 22, of East Bank, W.Va. was traveling near Madison Friday morning when he reportedly hit a Department of Highways tractor.

The tractor was reportedly mowing near the roadway at the time.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. near the Lick Creek exit off of Corridor G.

Dorsey died as a result of his injuries.

The person operating the tractor was taken to the hospital, but no serious injuries were reported.

The condition of the tractor driver is, at this time, unknown.

Law enforecment reportedly stated fog may have been a factor in the accident.

The accident caused the four-lane to be closed for about three hours.

Dorsey was co-manager of Kroger in Logan, W.Va.

Services will be held at Pryor Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg Francis officiating.
