LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — Several fire departments in Logan County received new fire ratings from Insurance Service Office (ISO).

ISO fire ratings are a rating system that evaluates four primary categories of fire suppression: fire department, emergency communications, water supply, and community risk reduction. A higher ISO rating translates into lower fire insurance coverage costs.

ISO ratings are from “Class 10” to “Class 1” with “1” being the best.

The following stations are now “Class 4” fire departments: Henlawson, Chapmanville, Lake, Cora, and Verdunville fire departments.

The following stations are now “Class 5”: Harts, Logan County Station 2, Town of Man, and Buffalo Creek fire departments.
