PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Since December 2015 the family of William Scott Fannin have been searching for answers to his disappearance.
On September 27 remains found in Martin County, Ky., left family members hoping for closure.
In a press release issued by Trooper Steven Mounts, Public Relations Officer with the Kentucky State Police (KSP) the family’s greatest fears were confirmed.
According to the press release issued on October 3:
Human remains found in a wooded area in the Milo Community of Martin County, KY on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, have been identified as 37-year-old William Scott Fannin.
Family members reported Fannin missing in December 2015. Fannin was identified today by the State Medical Examiner’s Office, and additional testing will be performed in an attempt to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident remains under investigation by KSP
