Fire training at Verdunville Grade

The children were given tours of a fire truck and the Air Evac helicopter. The Main Island Creek Volunteer Fire Department also provided the use of a camper which acts as a fire safety simulator. Children are trained to notice fire hazards from appliances, heaters and fire places.

The Verdunville Volunteer Fire Department and Air Evac recently visited Verdunville Grade School for fire safety week. Fire Chief Windell Hunter explained they provide children with important safety information which could save their lives. “Please remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors twice a year,” added Hunter.
