CHIEF LOGAN STATE PARK — The Blue and the Gray met on the battlefield once again this weekend as the annual Logan Civil War Heritage Weekend: Rebellion in the Hills was held at Chief Logan State park.
Scores of soldiers and reenactors were on hand at the park and there were military drill demonstrations each day.
There was also a special appearance by actor Dennis Boggs, who portrayed President Abraham Lincoln. Boggs talked about Lincoln’s early life, his beginnings in the world of politics and his law practice, the death of his two sons Edward and Willie, the run for the presidency and the ravages of the Civil War.
Boggs delivered the Gettysburg Address at the historic train on Saturday and from the park cabin on Sunday.
All events during the weekend were free and open to the public.
