Nearly 400 students crossed the stage at Logan Memorial Fieldhouse (now Willie Akers Arena) to accept their diplomas in late May to graduate as the 1974 Class of Logan High School.


Today, those classmates are preparing to gather for their 40th reunion the weekend of June 20-22.


A tentative schedule has been released by organizers Leah Ferguson Luptak and Barbara Conn Stambaugh. It follows:


• 6 p.m. Friday, June 20 – Registration and a cookout will be held at BJ’s in Logan


• 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21 – A Memorial Service will be conducted in the Little Theater of Logan High School. As the planning continues, organizers are considering a luncheon after the service


• 6 p.m. Saturday, June 21 – Registration begins for the Dinner/Dance at the Logan Country in Chapmanville The class photograph will be taken at 6:15 p.m. Dinner will get underway at 6:30 p.m.


• 12 p.m. Sunday, June 22 – A family picnic will held at the first shelter to the left of the “Y” split at Chief Logan State Park in Henlawson.


While still in the planning stages, Luptak and Stambaugh said prices have not been set as classmates are still being contacted.


Members of the LHS Class of ’74 or those with information about them are asked to contact Luptak at leahluptak@sbcglobal.net or Stambaugh at stambaugh22@frontier.com.


Classmates who have updated contact information are urged to email Luptak or Stambaugh as soon as possible. They also are encouraged to state whether they plan to attend and participate.
