From West Virginia to California, members of the 1974 Class of Logan High School are sharing memories and photographs via social media as they prepare to celebrate their 40th reunion.
Organizers Barbara Conn Stambaugh, Cheryl Mullins Taylor and Leah Ferguson Luptak, working primarily with classmates on a Facebook page dedicated to their class, have released the schedule, as well as costs associated with the various events planned.
Graduates will gather Friday through Sunday, June 20-22. The schedule is as follows:
• 5:30 p.m. Friday get-together will be held at BJs in Logan
• 1 p.m. Saturday memorial service will be held in the Little Theater at Logan High School
• 6:30 p.m. Saturday dinner dance will begin with the class photograph at the Logan Country Club on Route 10 north of Chapmanville.
• Noon Sunday family picnic at the first shelter left of the Y at Chief Logan State Park at Henlawson.
Planning Committee members are at the stage where they need contact information for many of their fellow classmates.
Members of the class are encouraged to contact Barbara Conn Stambaugh at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 304-239-0043. Callers who do not receive an answer are asked to leave a voicemail message. Stambaugh’s mailing address is Box 10, Wilkinson WV 25653. Payments or installment payments are now being accepted. Graduates are asked to make a note in the memo section of their check or send a separate note detailing what events they plan to attend of if they are interested in purchasing t-shirts, photos or photo disk. Those who are unable to attend but wish to purchase a t-shirt, photo or photo disk may do so for $10 each.
Leah Ferguson Luptak also is accepting contact information. Her email address is email@example.com
The fee for the entire reunion is $100 for classmates and $50 for guests.
Graduates are urged to join Facebook and connect with classmates on the page for Class of 1974. Meetings are conducted on the site at 8 p.m. DST Mondays to discuss the reunion.
They also are invited to visit the page at any time to share photos of family, as well as reconnect with old friends. Those interested in the Facebook page need to send a friendship request to Stambaugh or Luptak.
During the planning process, classmates have agreed to establish a voluntary gift fund with proceeds from a silent auction being held Saturday. The fund will provide a gift to Logan High School from the class.
Those wishing to donate to the fund may do so on a voluntary basis. Contributions will be accepted during the reunion.
Four decades later, the nearly 400 members of the 1974 Class of Logan High School are ready to reunite and celebrate what binds them: always being a Wildcat.
