LEAD announces new group: Circle of Parents
by Debbie Rolen Staff Writer
The LEAD Community Organization is announcing a new group call the Circle of Parents. The new group is being formed for parents, other caregivers, teenage parents, grandparents once again taking on the role of parent and parents of special needs children who live in the Logan area. The group will begin meeting on September 9, 2013, from 6-7 p.m., at the First Christian Church, at Logan.
The group plans to meet every Monday. If Monday is a holiday, an alternative day will be scheduled.
The group is a parent-led self-help group where participants are encouraged to come and share ideas, celebrate successes and address challenges involving parenting.
Circle of Parents is a national program launched in West Virginia in 2012. The groups are free, confidential and focus on positive parenting practices.
Each group is led by a trained facilitator and a parent leader from the community. Parents are encouraged to bring their children; child care will be provided during the meeting.
For more information about the group, contact the LEAD Community Organization at 304-896-8551.
