Man charged with copper theft

A Omar man has been charged with stealing copper from a local coal mine.
Jerry Jerome McNeely, 25, was booked on August 30 by the West Virginia State Police for grand larceny, destruction of property worth over $2,500 and conspiracy.
According to the complaint, McNeely and an unidentified accomplice conspired to steal 493 pounds of copper worth more than $1,000 from the Diamond Mine Company near Stirrat. In doing so, the pair allegedly caused more than $2,500 in damages to the company.
McNeely’s bail was set at $25,000.
In other magistrate court news:
• April Ables, 43, was booked on August 2 for by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department for six counts of forgery and six counts of uttering. Her bail was set at $5,000.
• Randolph Scotty Williams, 42, was booked on August 21 by the WVSP with five counts of failing to register as a sex offender. His bail was set at $3,000.
• Joshua Matthew York, 32, was booked on September 1 by the Logan Police Department for DUI. His bail was set at $2,500.
