CHARLESTON — Plea hearings that were scheduled last week for the four men accused in a Logan arson fire has been rescheduled.

James Gregory Glick, Guy R. Miller, Shawn C. Simon and William Jamey Thompson had entered into plea agreements with the United States and were scheduled to plead guilty in the United States District Court on October 16 and 17, 2013. Glick’s plea hearing was scheduled to take place first. At Glick’s plea hearing, the Court became aware that additional briefing was needed regarding the interstate commerce element of Count Eight of the Indictment (arson count). Glick, Miller and Thompsons’ plea agreements all relate to this Count.

The Court directed the Attorney General’s office to file briefing relating to the interstate commerce element of the crime no later than October 23. Counsel for Glick, Miller and Thompson must file a reply briefing no later than October 30. Simon’s counsel is not required to brief the element, because Simon has not agreed to plead guilty to Count Eight.

The plea hearings were continued for Glick to November 6 at 9:30 a.m.; Miller to November 6 at 10:30 a.m.; Simon to November 7 at 9:30 a.m., and Thompson to November 7 at 10:30 a.m.

The trial previously scheduled for November 5 has been rescheduled to December 3 at 9 a.m.
